Let’s Fantage.

I have not fantaged in a very long time. In fact, most stopped after the MyMall crap.

Anyways, I am not working today, so let’s spend a few minutes on Fantage to see how it has been!

First off, LeShop and the Star Cafe are under construction.

We have this user inspired home with overpriced furniture. (ALL WITH GOLD, OF COURSE!)

We have an event, called the Fall Fairy Fiasco, where play games at the grotto and find these items that appear every 15 minutes (or purchase them with gold, lol).

We have UGLY LIMITED ITEMS. WHAT THE ACTUAL HECK.

THE HAIR IS ACTUALLY 4,000 GOLD. I’M DONE GUYS. BYE.

Non members STILL can’t buy a MyMall permission!

Barely any new items in regular shops.

No new rares either.

The IDFone thing doesn’t seem to work correctly. (I’ve tried various times, and waited for 5 minutes. Nothing.)

So basically, nothing has changed, and Fantage is desperately trying to make money from the remaining users that still play because they have access to their parent’s credit card.

Maybe if they actually consistently created new content, and actually made it less buggy, more people would buy membership! In fact, I would have bought membership again since I have a job, if I had an actual reason to! Way to go Fantage developers!

It’s a shame because I actually had fun with the site and working with friends I’ve made in the community, but it all died down after the developers decided to have no MyMall permission for non members.

More stupidity from Downtown!

So right after I posted that last post, I went back to Downtown…and saw some real intelligence at work here, people.

Besides the general lack of knowledge people have about Karma Koin gift cards and what they do, I saw:

1. Three or four people were alternating between asking, begging, and screaming for people to have a fashion show at their houses. Why they couldn’t have done this themselves is beyond me. Then, when someone sensible pointed out that Fantage has an actual Fashion Show game at Top Models, all of these people said some variation of “no”. And promptly went back to screaming.
2. A girl in the middle of the big crowd in Downtown asking some random other person to move every five seconds. You are in the middle of a crowd, lady. It’s not going to magically part for you. Then instead of doing what any sane person would do and moving up higher where fewer people are, she just used her scepter to grow and started screaming about the hangout at her “plc”. (I don’t really get why people can’t be bothered to type the A or the E, but I digress.) And then when a normal-sized girl stood on her, she got all worked up about it, because a regular-sized Fantagian is totally going to prevent people from clicking on you when you’re huge. Yeah, okay, then.
3. This exchange: “Stop following me.” “I LOVE YOU!” Clearly these people have learned their ways of showing romantic affection from Twilight.
4. This other exchange: “Hi, your cute!” “I no.” “It’s I know, not I no.” “I no.” “It’s I know.” “And it’s swag.” The “I no” girl was also holding “bea” tryouts, just FYI.
5. Someone thought MyMall was an overrated place to ask for items and started asking people if they had bunny nose. Because the average Fantagian Downtown has all kinds of wanted items from five years ago!

Also, for everything that happened that made it to this list, there were about a million people hosting various tryouts. At least one of said people did not actually check their house in the middle of all this tryout screaming, because they had to be told multiple times that there were a lot of people waiting there.

And on an unrelated note, sorry for not posting a lot, guys! Between ACNL, SMM, and real life, I haven’t had a ton of time for Fantage. I’ve mostly been on to recruit and to restock my kiosk/get more permission, but that’s it. I did notice that they removed the eCoins you get when you make a new account, though. (But they’re always changing things about the registration process, and you do still get eCoins for completing Michelle’s tutorials.)

I feel saddened that I actually have to explain this…

Karma Koin gift cards are a method of payment for Gold and membership on Fantage. $50 will get you either a year’s worth of membership (if you go with the cheap one-month option), 70,000 Gold, or three months’ worth of membership AND 120,000 Gold.

This post is dedicated to the mind-boggling amount of people on Fantage who don’t know this, despite it being mentioned both Uptown and on the membership purchase page. By the way, a lot of these people are members themselves.

Crossdress Challenge

In Animal Crossing New Leaf, I often crossdress. I look like a sexy dude. ;D

So I was really inspired by my peculiar hobbies, so I decided to make this crossdress challenge.

Objective: Try to look like the opposite gender of your fantagian account.

This is actually VERY difficult to do, but I think I did a good job!

The hardest part was deciding what hair to wear, they’re all pretty girly…

“New” Servers…?

Okay, so I was going to get a picture of this, but I very stupidly decided to continue on to Fantage, so unfortunately I don’t have photo proof. But when I logged in just now, there were like five or six “new” servers in addition to the regular ones… I say “new” with quotation marks because I’m pretty sure these were all actually servers that got taken off a long time ago, but WTF???

Sadly, Scarlet Starfish was not on the list. ;-;

People Are STILL Trading…

Well, it looks like all the work Fantage did to try to get people to stop trading was all for nothing! 🙄

Between last night and now, I’ve seen multiple people ask about trading items without ever having gone on the popular servers. All of them have been members.

Apparently these people don’t get that nonmembers lost the ability to do pretty much anything at MyMall because of people like them. You’d think they’d get that after having to click past the notice saying not to trade every time they visit MyMall, but I guess not. So to all you nonmembers out there, you should know that you just lost MyMall privileges for nothing! Yep, that’s right, nothing!

Really, at this point, I don’t know why Fantage doesn’t just introduce a trading system so that people could trade FAIRLY. None of this “scamming” nonsense or “who goes first?” or anything like that. Bearville had a trading system. Gaia has one. And you know what? SCAMMING IS NOT AN ISSUE WHEN YOU HAVE A FAIR TRADING SYSTEM.

Oh, well. We all know MyMall is going to go down the toilet, anyway.

Raising the Min?

So as everyone knows, Fantage raised the minimum price of all items below 1000 Gold to that amount.

…Or did they?

I was looking through the MyMall search, trying to find what Casey was selling so I would know what her kiosk was, and I came across a bunch of items up for…500 Gold. WTF?

(No, I’m not censoring these people’s names, because there is absolutely no reason for me to do that and you could find out who they were by *gasp* going to their kiosks. Or using the MyMall search function.)

I did some more sleuthing, and it turns out that I’m going to have to take back what I said earlier on BRD and in WP comments about Fantage being stupid and raising the minimum prices for items nobody cares about. That’s right, the crappiest LuckyBot and (possibly) Cody’s Crazy Combos items still have minimum prices of 500 Gold. (For the LuckyBot items, I can see why they did this, since LuckyBot items are given a Gold pricing based on their value/rank and raising the price for one group of said items would mess up that system entirely. But I digress.)

Everything else is still going for 1000 Gold and up, and Fantage is still stupid to have done what they did with the MyMall permission/kiosk thing in general, but hey, at least they realize nobody wants the crappy recolors of those jackets and sweaters and roller skates.

I Am Going to Try Harder to Explain Why the Fantage Developers Are Being Dumb

I made a post previously and yet people still don’t fully agree.

So there are some people saying, “Fantage is business! They can make more money this way! It’s unfair how nons can get stuff without spending a penny!” And others are saying “well now there will be less scammers!”

We all know Fantage is business. Here’s the thing: They don’t just make money from membership. Plenty of other people buy gold, and I’ve seen people purchase gold instead of membership. Why? Because they like gold more than membership. Just because they’re not a member, doesn’t mean they have not supported the company before.

Now, if you do not allow users who do not pay monthly to have a “member” status on Fantage, they will feel less inclined to play it. No one wants to play a game where a company greedily asks for cash or you have no benefits.

I love Nintendo. Their games are fantastic. However, they did have a history of being bastards trying to squeeze more money from others! They content ID’d Youtube channels that played their games, or even reviewed it! That’s completely uncalled for, because they took no part in the video besides for being the creators of the game. They also barely spend time developing their games as well as before. As much as I’d love to play their games, I don’t feel inclined to support them.

Do you kinda see where I’m getting at? Sure, I still love their content, but I do not want to pay them all because they are greedy. Besides, being able to sell and buy items in MyMall was mainly why majority of the users on Fantage played it. Heck, I got premium membership a couple of times so I can increase my profits. I was thinking of getting another one soon, but now that Fantage is being greedy and unfair, I refuse to support their company now. Do you see the impact the developers are having now? This isn’t increasing their profits. They are getting people like myself to feel like we should stay away from that website.

Also, some people have just been playing for a long time, so of course they’re going to have good items and try selling off the ones they don’t need. Before I became a member, I had a crap ton of items that are worth a lot, just because I played since 2011. Oh, and some people are gullible enough to buy free items, but that’s their fault.

Now, let’s talk about scamming! The biggest reason why Fantage placed these restrictions! YAAAY!

…From what I’ve heard, the popular items haven’t had an increase on minimum price. LOL. And y’know, members can scam too… I’ve heard of members who scam. They exist. Just because they spend money, doesn’t mean they’re less likely to… (But it’s true that majority of scammers are nons.)

BUT YOU KNOW, WE COULD ALL DO WHAT MARINA SAYS: NO TRADE NO PROBLEM!

OR FANTAGE COULD ADD AN ACTUAL TRADING SYSTEM, BUT HAVE BOTH PARTIES PAY GOLD. FANTAGE WILL STILL MAKE MONEY BECAUSE YOU’RE SPENDING GOLD. IT WILL BE QUICK AND EFFICIENT, NO ONE WILL GET SCAMMED BECAUSE YOU CAN HAVE THE TWO PARTIES SEE WHAT THEY’RE GETTING BEFOREHAND.

Also mini rant: I don’t hate scammers. Sure what they’re doing is rude and stuff, but it’s kinda the victim’s fault for trading with someone they just met. The risks are there, are you all so gullible? I’ve been through shit worse than being scammed of virtual money, (like rumours about me sending nudes to random guys on the internet, when it’s false) and I’m sure it applies to many other people. Welcome to the real world folks, not everyone is going to be nice. I understand if you’ve became close friends with someone and they take everything from you, but really most of these victims just trust any offers they get.

If you still have further complaints, I’d LOVE to debate with you. Please tell me if there are any reasons why this should have happened. I say more benefits to members instead, don’t remove them from nons!

Why the Fantage Developers are Stupid

Allow me to rant for a second here.

So if you checked out Fantage on March 17 2016 you’ll notice that there are some new FANTASTIC updates! Here we got a greedy money maker company who pays their workers minimum wage, who decides that they need more money in a stupid manner!

They essentially made it so only premium members, the people who spend at least five dollars a month to have a higher level than anyone else and can be a total cheapskate because they can wear starred items which are worth much less than their coined counterparts can purchase permission!

Now you could argue that non members can still obtain permission from the daily attendance and Luckybot, but when you think about it, doesn’t that make no sense? So people can get permission for FREE, but they can’t pay for it? I’m pretty sure they intended to remove the entire feature for nons! Eventually free permission will be removed too! They most likely overlooked the idea.

Anyways, Fantage does want more kids to steal their parents’ credit card, but this is an IDIOTIC way to go around it! LET ME TELL YOU WHY!

REASON 1: MOST PEOPLE ON FANTAGE SPEND THEIR TIME IN MYMALL.

Now that there’s no intensive for non members to play unless they are rich, there’s no reason to go on Fantage anymore! Not everyone is interested in investing real money into a virtual world! Not everyone is going to go that far!

Besides, if they wanted membership, they would have gotten it in the first place! Sure you might drive 1 or 2 people to purchase one, but you’ll have more people quitting than spending some cash monthly!

REASON 2: IT COSTS MONEY FOR PERMISSION ANYWAYS!

For one day it costed 300. 800 for 3 days. And it was around 1400 for a week. It isn’t just small pocket money, it’s quite a lot! So… What’s the point of making it only for members, considering that most people buy gold in the first place? They’re still making profits this way, no need to remove it!

REASON 3: THERE ARE MORE WAYS YOU COULD HAVE PROMOTED MEMBERSHIP!

I believe that members do not have many rights. They can buy items with stars in shops, wear starred items, have cheaper MyMall permissions, can post 5 items in MyMall, buy SOME limited items, and they can level up more. That’s it. BUT C’MON MAKING IT SO NONS DON’T HAVE PERMISSION IS SUCH A HUGGEEE DIFFERENCE!

HERE ARE OTHER WAYS YOU COULD HAVE PROMOTED MEMBERSHIP, BUT NOT REMOVE THE RIGHTS OF NON MEMBERS:

• ACTUALLY GIVE MORE THINGS IN THE DAILY ATTENDANCE. LIKE MAYBE HAVE DOUBLE THE REWARDS!
• DISCOUNTS WHEN BUYING SHOP ITEMS WITH ECOINS! (AND GOLD, I GUESS.)
• INCREASE THE MONTHLY STAR ALLOWANCE. BY A LOT. 5000 STARS IS LIKE NOTHING NOWADAYS. WHY NOT MAKE IT 100,000? (After all, it just saves time for people to play those childish games over and over again.)
• PROVIDE A ECOIN ALLOWANCE AS WELL, CONSIDERING THAT THEY’RE BASICALLY OBSOLETE. 5,000 ECOINS A MONTH?
• MORE OF A DISCOUNT ON MYMALL TAX?

Anyways, the point is, you can add more features without removing features that non members used to have. I mean what is Fantage now, Club Penguin?
